Copilot in a plant that still uses a fax.

We have sat in plants where every manager has Copilot on the laptop, and the packing slip still arrives by fax. That is not a failure of imagination. That is a map of where the work actually lives.

If you point Copilot at the public internet, it will sound confident about a tolerance it has never seen. If you point it at your own procedures (the boring, dated, versioned ones), it becomes a supervisor who does not get tired of the same question.

The wiring is the product.

SharePoint has to be the real binder, not a junk drawer. A connector into the ERP has to know the open order. And the model must not be allowed to write back. Copilot Studio is a good door when Microsoft 365 is already home. A local model is the right door when the file should not leave the building.

The fax can stay another year. We are not precious about that. The copilot still has to tell the truth about today’s spec. That is the work we like.
