What we built
A document intelligence desk: classify the slip, extract the lines, validate against the open PO, and route the exception — not the happy path — to a human. Power BI showed the backlog the next morning, not at month-end.
What changed
Happy-path slips land in the ERP the same morning. People keep the judgment on mismatches. The board pack stopped arguing about which spreadsheet was true.
